Lumina Clothing launched its first neck wear line Fall 2010. Since then, we have grown it into a larger selection of neck ties and bow ties and have added men's button-downs to our collection.

We are very eager to continue to grow as a brand, and want to add many new items to our collection in the coming year. This is why we have come to Kickstarter. We really need your help to launch our first full line of clothes into the market. 

During the 2012 seasons we want to add pants, shorts, a deconstructed blazer, and two dress styles to the Lumina Collection. We are particularly excited about the dresses because it will be the first time we sell any women's wear, and who knows, we may even have a few other new items up our sleeves! We know that by creating a more all inclusive brand we can do more for our customers and continue to support the creative community in Raleigh, NC.

This is why we are asking for $17,500. We have done preliminary design on most of our new items, but it is expensive to go through sampling and costly to produce at base line quantities. We experience slightly more costs than other brands because we are committed to manufacturing all of our items here in the USA.

During the last year, we also got sucked into the wholesale / retail whirlwind, which meant higher prices and less creativity in our brand. With this new launch we are going to sell everything direct to the consumer, which means better quality, lower prices, and a more personal relationship with those people who want to support Lumina. We hope that this Kickstarter campaign will also help us launch our new products with the best online sales experience possible.

We have already had many people ask us what our longer term plans are for Lumina. If we are fortunate enough to raise more than we are requesting, we do have immediate expansion plans for the brand. 

Ultimately, if the Kickstarter community supports us well beyond our $17,500 goal, we hope to open a Flagship shop here in Raleigh, NC that will showcase all of our lines and create another outlet where we can sell directly to the consumer and interact with the people who are buying our products.

In addition to the store, we would also like to launch a canvas and leather accessories line called Geige Goods (which you get a sneak peek of with the canvas tote we are offering in our rewards!), as well as, an alternative denim line called Americana Blues.

THE LUMINA PRODUCT LINE:

OUR BUTTON DOWNS:

Color options will be announced upon completion of Kickstarter. We are guaranteeing a white oxford, blue oxford, and blue stripe oxford option.

OUR DECONSTRUCTED BLAZER AND PANTS:

Jacket will be available in navy and gray twill. Other color options will be announced upon completion. We guarantee pant options in grey, navy, and khaki, other options announced upon completion.

OUR TIES:

Tie options will be announced upon completion. We will not guarantee any styles, however, there will be gingham, plaid, and chambray options.

OUR TOTE AND POCKET SQUARES:

Pocket squares will be offered in several tie fabric options, including some linens. Specific colors will be announced upon completion. Bag colors will also be announced upon completion, however, we guarantee a navy, military green (shown), and natural canvas option.

OUR T-SHIRTS:

All shirt colors announced upon completion. We guarantee a heather grey and navy blue option. 

WOMEN'S DRESS:

Dress style 2 will be a button-down safari style dress. It is currently in the design phase. All dress colors options will be released upon completion of Kickstarter. We do guarantee and all black strapless design and a khaki button-down design.
