About this project

ABOUT THE FILM:

It's a feature narrative about a contagious mental disorder.   The disorder convinces its subjects that an invisible device is continuously watching and recording every move they make. Here's a little bit of the storyline...

Leah is a young workaholic.  She's a high-school math teacher, hosts an educational web series, and takes night classes for her Masters Degree.  So when she inexplicably catches this strange disorder, her busy life becomes harder and harder to control.   When she discovers her colleagues are also interacting with their own devices, she realizes the disorder is not just in her head.  Leah plunges into the depths of her own disorder to try to save those whom she's infected.

The Reiss disorder is an exploration of our entanglement with technology and our desire to stay continuously connected.  It's a dark comedy and takes place in Morristown, NJ.

Marshall McLuhan's phrase, "the medium is the message" is more relavant now than ever, right?  Look how easily I can make a hyperlink of that phrase.  I can link anything!  This is too much for me!  I need a coffee break, with my phone, of course.
