Project Overview
Buon giorno! My name is Lucia De Giovanni. I'm a music and fine art photographer based here in Denver. When I look around this amazing community in which we Denverites are so lucky to live, I see incredibly creative artists, wonderfully talented musicians and beautiful people. But most of all, I see love.
Over the past year, my LOVE project has given me the opportunity to take photos of nearly 70 couples in love -- of all ages, colors, shapes and styles -- in an attempt to capture how love looks.
I'm also fortunate enough to collaborate with a number of Denver's phenomenal musicians -- all beautiful and talented. Through their music, I've begun to understand how love sounds.
On the evening before Valentine's Day in 2011, I would like to bring together how love looks and how love sounds to celebrate the multiple ways that love enriches our lives every day. The event will include a private reception for the many couples who have contributed their time and love to this project, followed by a public art show and an intimate concert of a few local musicians, playing songs of love. The photos I've taken -- some of which you can see in the video above -- will be collected into unique books and printed onto metal plates as one-of-a-kind works of art.
I am hoping to raise $2750 through Kickstarter to cover the costs of printing (both the books and the metal plates), food and drinks for this special event. Though I anticipate the event actually costing more than that, your generous support will help me not go totally broke funding this with my own credit cards.
