DVD's and Cryosphere

Update #7 · Oct 22, 2012 · 2 comments

I am hand making the DVD rewards and will be shipping them out at the end of the week. Those who expect to receive one and haven't sent me their address, please do.

Also today I launched my new Kickstarter campaign! It's for my new short film "Cryosphere" about the melting of a glacier. This film will be finished and released on November 30. Please donate and share the campaign to make that happen. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1560227758/kickstart-cryosphere

Designs and Good Location

Update #4 · Apr 28, 2012 · comment

I went out today and found a location that works better. This will be an ideal place to photograph, it is far away from any people, with large lush trees, and a good window to the sky. In this image it was raining, which I am fine with at times during the day. That will look interesting in timelapse, but I want to make sure the sky is clear at night to see the stars.

I also started mocking up some design ideas. I like how this feels similar to a planet floating in space.

I'll keep an eye on the weather reports and start getting this made. Can't wait!

Possible Location

Update #3 · Apr 26, 2012 · 2 comments

I think I found an interesting location. This is the most like the sketch I made and is in Siuslaw National Forest with stunning large growth trees. Only thing that worries me is this is very close to the pacific ocean and the climate rains almost daily, plus I wonder if this canopy is too closed and won't be interesting enough in timelapse. It still could be interesting to see the lighting shifts throughout the day with small slots of stars around the silhouetted trees at night.

If I get a break in the weather I will give this location a try and go from there. I'm also considering adding some graphics and animation to the images to make it more interesting and with a little story structure.

Anyone have any opinions or thoughts on these ideas?
