Hello! My name is Shawna Houston, and I am writing a book - and I believe we have established that I can not draw to save my life. And that my illustrations are far more desirable than me being hilariously awkward on camera...Ahem.

Synopsis!

Zeraphene Braice is a twenty something red head with an estranged identical twin. Czerabein is that twin, and she shows up one day with the strangest story...

What follows is the weirdest stuff Zera could possibly ever find herself involved with. Super powers? A twin commune of Gypsy types running around post apocalyptic France? Mad scientists? Voodoo priests? Really?

Yes. Oh yes. And much more.

Together the young women uncover a secret world of identical twins, all with super powers of their own. With their new found knowledge and friends they manage to defeat an incredibly evil twin who wants to destroy them all, and everyone goes home happy. Probably. I haven't actually written the ending, so who knows.

Funds!

I mentioned a list, and here it is. Things I will be doing with the funds will be:

- Writing. Like I said, I've got it all in my head, and most of it is down on paper in one form or another, but I'd like that form to be a book form so...I need some time to do that.

- Editing! What would a book be without copious amounts of editing? ...probably not very good. Imagine all the run on sentences. Or unnecessary superfluous adjectives! How awful.

- Book stuff. Fortunately publishing a book as a .pdf is fairly painless, but there are some costs involved. 

Stretch!

Yeah, I can make an ebook with $2,000. And yeah, I read ebooks. But I LOVE book books. The real stuff. The paper, and the covers, and the design and the smell and the feel of them. If we raise over the $2,000, what say you to book books? I say yes. Perhaps, even, hell yes?

Stretch to $3,000? 

- I will hire an illustrator! Backers will vote on the 2 artists I narrow it down too. And no one will suffer my stick people! Hooray!

Stretch to $5,000?

- Book Book stuff! There are a whole bunch of things involved with this like buying the printing in bulk to save on costs, and purchasing design elements and paying necessary fees and what not, but trust me, if there are going to be real books, the costs are going to go up. I will be able to print about 500 copies with this stretch goal.

Stretch to $6,000?

- more Book Books! 

Beyond that? We shall see... Who knows. Hard covers? Special editions? We could go crazy. Play your cards right and we might even get Judi Dench to do the audio books...or maybe even Neil Gaiman...muahahaha

Why this book? Why now? Good questions. I've said I've been writing forever, so what is it about this book? I love it. Plain and simple. It's a book that exists, in my future. In your future. It deserves to be written down, shared, and enjoyed. And it's what I love to do. So I'm finally going to do it.
