For her science fair experiment, a sixth grader named Kathryn announces she will dedicate her life toward creating time travel.

Kathryn the Crononaut

Have you changed the world? A sixth grader named Kathryn changed the world. At least she will, once she creates time travel.

Kathryn the Crononaut is a all-ages novella (short novel) that seeks to introduce kids to advanced scientific theories in a fun, entertaining manner. Kathryn O’Riley is a smart, idealistic sixth-grader who decides to use her science fair project to declare that she will dedicate her life to someday creating time travel. She announces to the world that her future self will arrive the day of the fair to demonstrate the scientific breakthrough she will eventually make. Can one science fair change the world, especially if “Future Kathryn” doesn’t show up?

With the help of her parents, her best friend Holly, and her grumpy old science teacher, Kathryn learns that inspiring her classmates could have just as much of an impact as actually creating time travel.

By preordering this book now, you will help fund the printing of (at least) 200-300 copies. If support goes over my goal, I will print more. The more copies I print; the cheaper it will be from the printer. And, as usual, I'll be using a local printer right here in Nashville.

Book Cover

As both a reader and writer I particularly enjoy science fiction featuring strong female protagonists who demonstrate their strengths through the relationships they have with their friends and family. With that in mind, I have written Kathryn the Crononaut with the intention of creating a fun science fiction novel for ages 8 on up to adults. I have always been (like most kids) very interested in time travel and the science that could someday make it a reality. My novel relies on my own combination of very real scientific theories that I have assembled in an easily understood manner. My goal is for this story to be a fun way to introduce kids (or readers of any age) to advanced scientific theories such as string theory. As you probably know, time travel can be very confusing, but the clear focus of the story is Kathryn and the impact she has on the people in her life.

Although Kathryn the Crononaut is my first prose novel, I have created many stories. As a graphic novel writer and artist for the past six years, my work has appeared in various anthologies including the Eisner award winning Tori Amos Comic Book Tattoo. I am the writer and artist of the webcomic Ninjasaur, a humor comic strip about a dinosaur ninja. I also write and draw Gruff, a graphic novel continuation of the Billy Goats Gruff folktale.

Thank you for your support!

Stuff you should know:

The Illustrated Time Travel Explanation print from the $20 or higher level contains some serious spoilers. So DON'T look at until you've read the book! Unless you like spoilers, then have at it.

The Limited Edition print of the cover will most likely be 15.5 x 24 inches and will be limited to under 100 printings.
