Update #2: THANKS!
Update #1: First Purchase!
Thank you all SO MUCH for your generosity!
With the goal met, I picked up the first PEX tubing - 400' of .5" for the heat exchangers and another 10' of .75" to run from the manifolds to the pump. Caught it on sale so I saved 10% which is always nice.
Tomorrow I am going to chop down .1 acres of lambsquarter I let mature on one of my spring veggie plots. The several hundred 9' tall stalks will get run through my shredder and mixed with some shredded wood chips to prime the Methane Midden's batch digesters so that we can begin to produce some "Gobi Gas" for real. Once we have a good read on the amount of gas created, and have flared it off to prove that is of sufficient quality to be fuel we will then tear the pile down to rebuild it with the PEX tubing, etc and begin testing the feasibility of suburban space heating and domestic hot water using woody waste compost piles.
To all my backers - THANK YOU for making this test a reality!
Stay tuned on www.onestraw.wordpress.com for more detailed progress!
You guys ROCK!
