About this project

Greetings and thanks for taking the time to check out my project. I have been brainstorming about doing this film for the past 3 or 4 years and have finally begun shooting.

Chosen - A Chronicle of the Black BMX Experience, is a full length feature documentary film that follows the history of black BMX athletes, manufacturers and industry insiders from the 1970's until present day. Although only amassing a small percentage of the racers around the globe, they have found great success in this niche cycling discipline.

We have traveled the country to interview some of the top black BMX athletes in the world but do need your help in order to finish the film as it rightfully deserves. We've be in contact with and have receive commitments from past world and national champions such as:

Denzel Stein

Craig Reynolds

Darrin Mitchell

Jeffery Upshaw

Dominique Daniels

Terry Tenette

Turnell Henry

and many more...

The money raised through Kickstarter will be used for travel expenses, equipment rentals, editing costs, film festival entry and distribution (DVD). Any funds raised above our goal will go to additional effect creation and equipment that will only make that documentary that much better.

I ultimately want to distribute this film to community centers throughout the country free of charge so underprivileged youth can see that they can be successful at more than just the sports that they are expected to excel in. If it wasn't for BMX, I'm not sure where my life would be right now. I feel compelled to pass the tradition on through my camera lens.

Donate early and help spread the word to all your friends. Every dollar donated puts us one notch closer to hitting our goal. The unique thing about Kickstarter is that we must reach our goal or else we don't receive any funds!
