This project is inspired by urban style hipsters, graffiti and expression. Living in midtown as an art student. I am a professional portrait painter and currently working on a series of urban/expressionistic portraits of "counter culture" of this generation

I realized that my work immediately connects with people from age 12 - 65 years of age. Not just by my skill as a painter but with the ability to capture the essence of a person. I always say that I don't paint "portraits" but "feeling"

About me

I am a recent graduate from Wayne State University 2011 earning a B.F.A. I am 22 years old, from Detroit, MI and currently live in metro-Detroit area. I want to explore more cities that have a large art centers. My ultimate goal is to create AFFORDABLE art that everyone and enjoy.  I have never been a person to sell my art at hundreds of dollars, as a fellow artist and collector I make my art so people can have a great piece of art at a cost that suites them

I was recently accepted in the 45th Annual Flint Art Festival hosted in Flint MI. Thankfully I was given this opportunity and able to travel to the festival with the help from a backer! 

Backing this project would help me a great deal in completing my project - series of affordable graffiti style portraits. I feel that this portrait style has not been explored enough but it should be because it is a huge representation of the emerging artists of today.
