This Kickstarter project will help me finish my long awaited CD, "Spin" and bring all my music to the world!
Hi Kickstart community. My name is Jason Kabler, I've been a singer/songwriter for twenty five years and I'm living the dream in Nashville, TN. My first CD was produced by Eric Straton and since then I have self-produced and distributed six more CDs. I am in the process of finishing my eighth CD, "Spin", and I would really appreciate your help!
Before telling you about the CD, let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in PA, the youngest of four boys. I've been legally blind since birth and to keep me from feeling frustrated, my mother taught me how to play the guitar. My love of music was definitely inspired by my mom and lives on in her memory.
Twelve years ago my beautiful daughter was born, followed a few years later by my amazing son. I took a break from touring and playing gigs to raise my kids, but they are at that age now where I feel confident in booking shows and getting back to business. This is where you come in.
First thing I need to do is finish recording my long awaited 8th CD, "Spin". I play all the instruments on my CDs except lead guitar. For "Spin", I am very honored to have one of the best blues musicians in the country willing to record the lead guitar. But he is not going to do it for free. In the mean time, I need to jump into 2012. The days of manufacturing my own CDs is over.. I'm going digital and will have my music available on iTunes, Amazon Music Store and IHeartRadio (just to name a few).. Instead of selling physical CDs, I will make all of my music available for download via download cards. This kickstarter project will allow me to set-up my digital library, stock up on download cards (and necessary distribution supplies), and re-establish the Jason Kabler brand with promotional items. If you don't know my music I would love for you to take a listen. I write all of my own music and for the most part I try to write songs that are happy and inspirational, more often than not, based on real life. It doesn't get any more real than jumping back into what you love...and with the help of the Kickstarter community I believe that I'm that much closer to making my dream a reality!
I will be giving really great stuff away with your donations including download cards for my CDs, T-shirts, your name and picture in one of my music videos, personal thank you notes on my website, private concerts, and even Autographed guitars. My kids said that I should offer to send people my awesome homemade chocolate chip cookies. Okay - why not! Please look into your hearts and help me get my music to the world where I can make so many people happy! If I am blessed enough to make my funding goal, all excess money will be used to add additional merchandise, and start the next CD!FAQ
