I pitched in $10! A bit of free advice: if this version of the project doesn't get funded, try again with some sort of reward for people who don't read e-books but would like to contribute less than $50. I know at least one person who said "$25? That's hardback prices, not e-book" and decided not to contribute.
It would also be useful to know how much the finished book will sell for and what format it'll be in. I'm fine with pitching in $10 and paying $15 for a POD trade paperback, for example; that's a total outlay of $25 that gets me a paper book rather than a e-book, which means it benefits me more to do it this way than to make a straight-up $25 donation. Unfortunately, that CBA discourages higher donations, which may mean the project doesn't get funded at all.
