How's it going?! My name is Matt Evans and I am an independent film maker. I welcome you to my Kickstarter page!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself how does that sound? I am a college student with a theater major. Acting/directing has always been a strong passion of mine. I have spent many hours behind our families camcorder growing up recording and editing everything from sports events to skits and parodies with my friends. Now that I am starting to realize what some of my stronger interests and dreams are it is time that I start taking my film making seriously.
My dream is to become a successful director/actor. I have had a solid and ever growing idea for a short film about a werewolf living among everyday people in a small city in mid west America. I am not wanting to give away too much but just know that I have BIG plans for this film! I plan for the film to be horror/thriller based. I have no intention of making this feature anything like Twilight or animated. I am wanting to go with more of a classic werewolf theme with the idea of my wolf being a character with makeup and a costume, not CGI. I have a friend that is a pilot so I plan to do a lot of scenic and aerial shooting to try and give my audience a very realistic view and a sense that they are actually experiencing what is happening in the film.
Like I said, I have many exciting and big ideas for this film, but being an independent film maker is a tough position to be in. Without the funding from larger studios and sponsors paying out of pocket is about the only option that is given to us. Especially with being in school paying out of pocket almost always seems impossible. I am not rich, nor do I come from a rich family, so with your help we can get this movie kick started and in full production! The money pledged to this film will be put directly towards the following:
- National Park fees and registration
- Lodging for cast and crew (if necessary)
- Creation of movie posters, fliers and writing of DVDs
- Renting of local movie theaters to feature the film
- Costumes and make up for the cast
I cannot put into words my excitement and determination to produce this movie. To the right of your screen you will find different pledge levels that I have made and their corresponding rewards. Please take some time to go over each one and decide which one would suit you best! If I do not meet or exceed my goal of $8,000 by the deadline, this movie will simply cease to move forward. As a result, it will be forced to remain a very large idea inside of my brain, but with your help I know that we can make this happen!
