About this project
We want to build some fantastic kinetic public art that inspires bicycle freedom, that charms even the grumpiest and dumpiest of passers-by. Local artist Daniel Hornung & co. have found just the ticket: Dino-Bike! They propose to erect it in front of the new Yellow Bike headquarters, right along the bike lanes on Webberville Road (http://austinyellowbike.org).
Dino-Bike is static, kinetic, and timeless. It is fossil fuel pumping people power. It is on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch...), and it is going to cost $2k or so to get the raw materials together. Let's Raise the Rex! Let's bring something big and beautiful into this small, wretched world!
There will be a fundraiser party on Friday, January 14th, at the U.S. Art Authority.Donate $10 and you get in the party for free. Donate $20 and you get a hand-made Dino-bike t-shirt, and free entry to the party. Everything helps, though. Donate after the party, and you still get the satisfaction of helping to RAISE THE REX!
