Kickstarter

Bulrup began with a dream – literally.  One night as a teenager, I dreamt of a card game involving mythical crops and creatures...and a pickle!  When I awoke, I set to work creating the first, hand-drawn, version of Bulrup.  My family enjoyed the game, and I made several rounds of alterations.  Eventually, I made my first computer-illustrated deck for my friend.  His friend expressed interest in buying a copy, and the enterprise of Bulrup began!

Over the years, I have introduced the game to friends wherever I go, and it's gotten such a great response that I decided to try selling my game.  Unfortunately, expensive self-printing options made each deck extravagantly priced, and the dream seemed to whither on the vine.

Thankfully, a fellow writer and friend took an interest in my little game and surprised me for my birthday with a professional-grade deck!  He told me the low costs he had found for custom game cards and I was hooked.  Then, he mentioned Kickstarter, and it seemed that what started with a literal dream could become a shared dream as friends and strangers around the world could invest in Bulrup.

This project is the creation of 100 decks of Bulrup and its first expansion pack, The Farmer's Almanac Expansion.  My goal is simply to share the joy of Bulrup with gamers and friends around the globe while raising money to produce more expansions that will change the way the game can be played.
