About this project
Dionysus, the only fully inclusive theatre in Texas, will head outdoors for a Night of Discovery, and we need your help to bring this free, family-oriented event to the public. Along with a delightful performance of Wonderland: the musical misadventures of a girl named Alice there will be activities before the show for both young and old. This show at Discovery Green will help the public discover the most unique theatre in Texas.

Dionysus Theatre Troupe, Inc. is a non-profit, non-religious, 501 (c) 3 organization incorporated in 2000, bringing the theater experience to teens and young adults who are able-bodied as well as to those who are disabled. Dionysus Theatre offers a unique expressive experience, in a safe haven, to those individuals who may not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in in an acting venue. Performing quality works with messages of inclusion and respect, Dionysus Theatre seeks to break down barriers and stereotypes often surrounding those with disabilities. By integrating our casts and classes, the able-bodied and those with disabilities often learn life skills from each other that transcend the theater venue.
Our motto, “Changing lives…one act at a time” best exemplifies and supports our mission. This is true, not only for the actors in Dionysus, but for our audiences, who support Dionysus for its entertainment and educational values.
Expanding on the educational aspect of our mission, Dionysus Theatre offers theater arts classes and provides individuals experience with all facets of the theater including costuming, sets, lighting, acting, directing and stage managing. Educators also look to Dionysus Theatre as a viable teaching tool, where they learn to integrate special needs students into their theater programs. Entertainment, education, enlightenment and empowerment make up the cornerstones of this unique theater program.
