Mortar and Pestle drifts between genres and mood, crafting a dark, dreamy elixir of soul, rock, and pop. Help us make our new album! :)

We could come up with some flashy and creative ways intended to manipulate you into helping us. However , honesty is a better approach.  The reality is we are all currently working full-time jobs , living in a very expensive city and trying to support our dream of making heart felt music to share with the world . We're ready to record but doing it right not only requires quite a bit of money, but it also takes innovation. So instead of releasing all our music at once in one full length album, we are releasing a 6 song EP (produced by David Earl (Lila Rose, Heart Machine)) followed by 2 singles with remixes 2 months later.

If you've never recorded an album before, here are some of the expenses that go into making and releasing one:

  • Paying for recording and mixing the instruments and vocals in studio 
  • Paying to have the album mastered 
  • Paying to have the album printed and pressed
  • Paying to get the album published and copyrighted
  • Paying to have the album promoted by a publicist
  • Paying the album artwork artist and photographer
  • Paying to have the album distributed to online stores
  • AND all the other little costs and expenses that can sneak up on you!

How Kickstarter works:

Kickstarter takes 5% of anything we raise and Amazon takes another 5% to process your credit card .  You will not be charged until we meet our goal of $7000. ( Basically we get nothing , nada, zero, if we can't get $7000 in 60 days!)  If we reach and hopefully surpass our goal ,  you will be charged for what you pledged and the rewards will be shipped to you by the estimated delivery date listed in the description.
