< THE GAME >
OVNI is a free game currently in development using Flash/Flixel.
In OVNI, players pilot an interstellar craft across the surface of the Earth, harvesting Earthling Meat (Humans, livestock, etc.) which ultimately ends up as a Slurpee-like product back on the Homeworld
The ship has a cloaking device which allows the player to pass through lights without being detected, but this drains the same limited energy as the ship's thruster.
Each level has a meat quota, and successful players will eventually see their meat-smoothie stand back on the Homeworld grow to be a bustling commercial hub!
However, careless players who become detected or crash after running out of energy will be swiftly terminated by the Intergalactic Fast Food Consortium, accompanied by a small severance package and a large dose of toxic gas.
< THE PLAN >
While the basic gameplay is complete, there is a lot of testing and content generation remaining to be done. This is where you come in.
I'm reaching out to DIY enthusiasts, indie game geeks and UFO believers and non-believers alike to generate content for OVNI.
Levels, characters and even portions of the story will come from the Kickstarter community, so your participation is essential.
Following the 15-day funding period there will be a 15-day submission and playtesting period, after which I'll release the game to the public.

$20 – all of the above, PLUS you get to design a level of the game!

The game can be played for free in your browser at Kongregate.com. Just head to http://www.kongregate.com/games/fabrIQ/ovni.
High scores will be recorded and displayed on the site if you log in using a Facebook account or sign up for a free profile on Kongregate. -
You can doodle your idea on a napkin (although graph paper would be better), or even just describe what you'd like and I'll take a shot at it.
When pledge period ends you will receive guidelines explaining a bit more about how the levels work, which environmental objects have collisions, etc., but playing the OVNI beta will make the level design process more intuitive. -
I request than any individual submitting his or her picture for inclusion as a character also submit a set of full-body x-rays.
If you do not have a home x-ray machine, I can use my imagination and draw your skeleton based on your outward appearance. -
OVNI is the acronym for UFO in the romance languages.

This isn't a question, but I'm glad you brought it up!
Firstly, the process of ion beam vivisection is extremely fast and 95% painless.*
Secondly, the Intergalactic Fast Food Commission encourages the harvesting of ANY meat-bearing life form above the mass threshold (which is established at the beginning of each season and regulated quite strictly).
There is no discrimination by species or level of intelligence; You are all meat.* The remaining 5% is excruciatingly painful.

There is much inconclusive evidence, and perhaps I want to believe, but I need to learn more. Eyewitness testimonies, especially from pilots and military personnel, can be difficult to discount as ordinary phenomena, but that does not necessarily mean that they are reports of extraterrestrial craft.
I want OVNI to contain UFO eyewitness stories from members of the community to satisfy my own fascination and need for evidence. I also think these stories will enrich the game, and encourage people to think about the UFO phenomenon from a different perspective. -

I am an independent game developer with an eclectic background and years of game design experience. I am looking for new ways to share my creations with the world while simultaneously supporting my dependence upon electricity.
I also have a weakness for so-called 'retro' sounds and graphics, but I can't help it... That's just what I was exposed to during my formative years.
