As of tonight, Don't Go Back to School is 49% funded with 241 backers. I'm thrilled by the enthusiasm the community has shown for this project, and even more thrilled about the dozens of people who have contact me with stories about things they've taught themselves. There's still a long way to go--and your help spreading the word is much appreciated.

I'm lining up some fantastic interviews, including several self-taught engineer/inventor types, successful finance and business types who did it without MBAs, a self-taught working actor, journalists, and lots more. I'm eager to find a few gallery-represented artists who skipped MFA school, as well as talking to artists in general about learning their craft. My goal is to do as many interviews as possible for data purposes, and to feature at least a dozen (possibly more) in the book as profiles.

I've had a lot of kind offers from backers who are graphic designers wanting to help out with the book, which is so generous. I have already arranged with some fantastic self-taught book designers to work on this, but if there's any way for others to pitch in, I'll put out a call.

Another backer does transcription, and has donated a few hours of transcribing, which is a huge help, because that's a big expense with an interview-based project.

We've also had a generous backer step in at the Publisher level--very exciting!
