In actuality, it will take more then $4000 to put out our new album. The more money we have to work with, the better the quality of the album. Plus, we need to make up for the cost of campaigning - i.e. fees, rewards and shipping. So please keep up the support and send this to you friends and families!
We at the Vermont Joy Parade, a 6-piece ol' time band, are currently recording our second album, a follow up to our critically acclaimed debut, 'Kicking Sawdust' and our most ambitious project to date. (review of 'Kicking Sawdust')
We are seeking grassroots support with Kickstarter to fund the costs of recording, mixing, mastering, production, promotion, and distribution.
Our goal is $4000 to cover the basic costs of the album, although we are hoping to raise much more, because this fall we will head to Berlin for a European tour.
The length of the fund raising campaign will be 40 days - during that time we will send periodic updates to our email list and facebook/myspace to keep our friends, fans, and families up to speed on the project. (Check out our eccentric incentives on the right hand side of this page)
Estimated costs:
Recording/mixing/mastering: $2500 (We've teamed up with sonic genius Ryan Power at Stu Stu Studio in Essex Junction, VT. Mastering will either be done by Ryan Power or Chicago Mastering Service.)
Production: 1500+ (This is the basic cost for a simple single run CD package.)
Promotion and Distribution: more than you can imagine.
