About this project

I am creating a multi-media art book inspired by my experience as the Artist in Residence in Everglades National Park this past summer.

I am trying to raise $7,500. We are just trying to break even for the cost of printing. THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS: -Professional Layout, -High Quality Color Printing in the U.S., on recycled paper -an Audio CD, and -500 copies of the final package.

HOW THE MONEY WORKS: To the right are a list of pledges you can make towards the project. For every amount listed there is a product that comes with that amount. You pay now. The money is held by Kickstarter until May 13. If the goal is reached, I get the funds to pay for printing, and you get the product you payed for. If the goal is not reached, you get reimbursed.

THE BOOK: I want this book to be an amalgamation of things. It will have elements of a field guide, narrative elements, coffee table book elements, abstract elements, descriptive elements. The book will have color reproductions of paintings and drawings and photographs. The book will have writing, reflective moments and poetic moments, by myself and perhaps others. There will be an audio CD, mostly conceived in the Everglades. I wrote songs with the frogs and the birds, and collaborated with some friends from around the country as well. The book will touch on both scientific and mythicall aspects of the Everglades.

Ultimately i want to get this book on the shelf of the Everglades National Park Bookstore. Kickstarter is great because this allows people to help this grand project by contributing as little or as much as they desire and get something in return.
