You're presentation at TypoBerlin really got me thinking about true value in life. Dedication is one of them, I think. You're documentary shows what passion looks like. What Jim Rimmer did may look like an average job, but he had skill, determination, and enthousiasm. The documentary shows that. Of course, it is also a valuable preservation of history. (Graphic) designers should not forget where type came from. This movie show how its done and preserves the past for future generations. It's worth every dollar or €uro spent! Please, keep on going and turn it into a masterpiece.

I am happy to be a part of this project. Your love and admiration for Jim Rimmer and his work is so tangible that I feel like I share a connection to someone very special just by being part of this.

The Dale Guild Type Foundry has been long time friends with Jim and were deeply sadden by the passing of such a master craftsman. Theo speaks fondly of sending Jim a care package of an ATF set micrometer and a depth gauge to aid in his matrix cutting. But in the same breath wishes that he had the chance to play trumpet with Jim. It's so heartening to see a public outpouring of support and acknowledgment of such a great man.

      Great initiative!
Are there any plans for producing subtitles? If needed, I can help you with Brazilian Portuguese ones.

Truly amazing response. Thank you everyone!
There are plenty of expenses still, so anything over the goal will still be put to good use. The manufacturing cost of the DVDs, promotion and of course presentation expenses have not be factored in, but this will absolutely make it the film happen.

Thank you all for your support.

I couldn’t convince my previous employer to support this project two years ago, so now it’s my turn. I can’t wait to see the final film … hopefully in time for TypeCon this summer. Godspeed … and convoluted machinery.
