Hi. I'm Frank Basile, a baritone saxophonist in Brooklyn, NY.  Welcome to my Kickstarter page.

This April, I went in the studio with five of my closest musical collaborators (who also happen to be five of my favorite musicians), and we recorded what will hopefully soon become my third recording as a leader.  In the three days before we recorded, we were able to rehearse the music and perform it live twice.  By the time we got to the studio, the music was under our fingers and in our minds, and this made for a smooth, free-flowing session.

About the band and the recording:

I've had the great pleasure and fortune to play with the wonderful musicians on this recording for the past several years.  They are: Fabien Mary on trumpet, Alex Hoffman on tenor saxophone, Ehud Asherie on Piano, David Wong on bass, and Pete Van Nostrand on drums.  Although we'd all played together in various formats throughout the years, it wasn't until October 2010 that I first put together the front line of myself, Fabien, and Alex.  I immediately wanted to record this group.  A few years later, and with a few more performances under our belts as a band, we went into the studio on April 13, 2012 to make it happen. The recording features three new original compositions of my own, as well as brand new arrangements I wrote specifically for this band.

Now, in order to complete the process of releasing this recording, I'm asking for your help.

Kickstarter is a project-funding website which allows us to work together to make this happen.  But it's an all-or-nothing deal.  If I don't meet or exceed my goal of $5,000 by the deadline, no money changes hands, no rewards are given, and the new recording stays on the shelf.  I hope you'll work with me to bring this project to fruition.
