Told almost entirely in real time, we experience a nurse's evening, moment by moment, as a monstrously sick intruder attacks.

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
Taking place almost entirely in real time, Antibody is a short horror movie about a nurse named Maia and her precarious relationship with her boyfriend Dean. They are having doubts about their future together after Maia makes it clear she never intends to have children. The next day, Maia comes home from work to an empty apartment…or so she thinks. Waiting for her is a profoundly diseased intruder whose afflictions render him at once dangerous and infantile.
WHAT’S IT REALLY ABOUT?
As you may or may not know (depending on your level of interest in horror movies) women are typically portrayed in these films as victims, and it’s gotten pretty old. In Antibody, we wanted to comment on this trend of victimization and what it might actually say about the toxic pervasiveness of traditional gender roles. Maia is indeed victimized, not only by the Sick Man, but also by a prevailing cultural attitude.
WHY DO I CARE?
We want to invite you to be a part of the filmmaking process which we are so very fond of. This includes getting behind the scenes access to various stages of the process including the make-up effects, production diaries and the making of the soundtrack. The prize we’re really excited about, though, is the invitation to be part of the online test audience. We want your opinion to help shape the final cut of the film. But aside from the BOSS rewards, you should care if you believe in our work, or more importantly in the progress of independent art. Our last movie, Ravenswood, was shot in three days on a budget whose only expense was food for the actors. Here, take a look:
We hope you liked it, but if you didn’t, that’s okay. This is an example of the kind of work we can produce with no budget, no time and all our own gear. Hopefully, this gives you a sense of what we can achieve with your donation, and inspires a shared ambition to take the next step.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY MONEY?
Should you be so kind as to donate to Antibody, your money would be put to immediate and relevant use in a number of ways. You would be creating the special make-up effects being handled by Chicago based company Cirque du Face FX. You would also be lighting our set and shooting the mayhem with the talents of Catalyst Lighting. Finally, you would be casting the movie with our favorite up and coming actors like Dame Tracey Kaplan VIII, Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Rodriguez, and Dr. Cody Proctor D.D.S. (not their real titles). We think you’ll find that all these elements will prove to be what elevates the project to meet our considerable goals.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
We are Eye Sprocket Productions. Nice to meet you.
Ivan Diaz, an experienced independent filmmaker deeply loyal to the Chicago film scene, founded the company in 2008 with a dedication to keeping filmmakers in Chicago. Though completely illiterate, he has written and directed several short films and is the host of NCFR (New Chicago Film Renaissance) on the Pixeldom Network. Here’s a link to the show:
Andrew Newton, Executive Producer and star of Ravenswood, is a Chicago Improv actor with training from Second City Conservatory and Improv Olympic. He is Eye Sprocket’s CMO in charge of the company’s expansion through new media and a genuinely mediocre friend.
Rebecca Hurst, Producer, has overseen the success of several productions in Chicago including various short films, music videos and commercials. Her guidance of the various elements of filmmaking combined with the tenacity and towing power of a Snoot Nose EMD SD40-2 diesel locomotive make her the driving force of this production. Without her abundant fuel capacity and turbocharged engine, Ivan surely would have been dead long ago.
Now, if I still watch my Anaconda DVD, does the sleeve fit any DVD box or is it specifically designed to fit in the old Anaconda DVD Box? I just don't want to get it and then have to make that choice.
The Digital DVD sleeve from the $20 pledge reward will fit any standard DVD case, but we're pretty sure you'll like our 13 minute movie better than all 89 minutes of "Anaconda".
