Old-school, top-down action, adventure and roleplaying 8-Bit inspired game reminiscent of such classics as Ultima 4, Dragon Warrior...
Influenced heavily from the Nintendo Entertainment System and classic top-down/isometric viewport roleplaying games like Zelda (more similar to Ultima 4 and Dragon Warrior 1), Dreamenders is a personal project to take 16-bit graphics and combine them with modern-style roleplaying aspects. Beneath the retro, 'old school'-looking graphics is a massive project with a fully customizable and unique system of magic, talent trees and skills system, role-playing character stats, an interactive world and fleshed out item creation system (I.E. ability to farm and bake bread), a real-time economy between towns, multiple varied locations ranging from medieval to outlandish dreamscapes and modern day warzones, and a unique, engaging and character-driven story from the author of the novel Savagery.
Game made using the Construct 2 game creation software. The dollar amount of the goal is to help with financial considerations during the process of creation. Donators will have access to BETA builds and will be credited within the game itself. Screenshots are of an experimental build under heavy construction.
ALPHA versions in development are available to play on the Scirra Arcade:
