It's hard to begin to tell you all about my experience in Israel and Palestine. First and foremost, the kids are very intelligent and are willing to learn just about anything. They absorbed the dance routine  quickly because all of the kids there are eager for creative and artistic opportunities. I have worked with many different youth populations, but I have never felt so much love and appreciation from a group of young people. Needless to say, I had a very positive experience teaching the youth at Hand in Hand and I can't wait to experience more opportunities like this one. 

On another note, I was sent back the $10 and $20 rewards because of the envelope I used. I just returned from Israel and I realized that some backers did not receive rewards because they were returned to my apartment in New York. I'm so happy that you contributed your time to learning about the project and supporting it. If you would like your reward in the month of July, you are going to have to send me your address before Monday as I will be making my big post office trip on Tuesday. 

Thank you to everyone who decided to donate their necklaces to my current students. I passed out 15 to some of my kids on the last day of school and said my farewells to my 8th graders. It was a sad moment, but I know there will be more youth to learn about and educate. I will also be taking some of the necklaces to Israel/Palestine to make sure kids will always have a symbol of peace with them.

Thank you all for contributing! I still have more than a week to keep pushing for more. Once the project is funded, 8% is taken for fees from Kickstarter and Amazon for the transactions. In addition, costs for mailing and the pendants were not included, so I encourage those of you who haven't supported to take a minute and drop a big or small donation. I truly appreciate any support.

Also, I wanted to inform everyone that I added a $25 reward in which you would receive 3 peace pendants. They're awesome gifts to pay peace forward to your loved ones. Let your friends know!

With more than two weeks left to fundraise, I am happy to say I am 90% funded for the project, just 10% more and I'm there!

I wanted to extend my gratitude to all the supporters, both monetary and emotionally/spiritually. It has been a great journey and the end is near. I wanted to let you all know that I added another $20 Reward since it was so popular that it sold out. If you already made a pledge and are wondering where your pendants are, they're coming soon. Once I know I am fully funded, I will send out each and every pendant on July 1st. If I do not make it to my goal (which is highly unlikely considering how amazing my friends, family and strangers are), Kickstarter will return any money you pledged and the peace pendants will be waiting to be worn and passed on to other people. But there's only a 1% chance of that happening, I guarantee it!

My brother, my mom and my friend Russel McMillans did not accept rewards and their rewards were given to current students of mine. Here's a picture of kids in a play I wrote called, "Stand Up Speak Up." Each of the cast members received one as a gift for being a part of a production that promotes peace through artistic expression and peer collaboration.
