Paintings of the skies, by season, at different times of day, taken from both real time views and photos.
This project is about paintings of the sky. It came to me while I was doing some paintings of the Everglades. I really liked the skies in those that had skies and thought it would be interesting and challenging to do some pieces that were nothing BUT sky. I will probably do some that have little bits of the terrestrial world....just to keep myself on my toes (and not use up all my blue paint).
I have been taking photos of the sky ever since this occurred to me--in Florida, at the airport in Washington DC,and on cloudy Fall days here in Chicago. The sky is different everywhere--different character. And I hope to capture some of that in these paintings. The first step is collecting photos.
Next is doing the paintings. If any one has suggestions for other size rewards for oil or watercolor paintings I have no issue with adding them.
I don't really have any of these DONE yet so the painting on this profile is a crop of a sky I like off a VERY small painting. These paintings will be a tad different! The funding goal for this is the BARE minimum to really get this rolling. I hope--as I assume most do--to raise more.

There are no real RISKS. I mean I might accidentally poke out an eye with a paintbrush or something.

One small EXPERIMENT. Small, no idea what size... I make no promises. I am looking to use ink on watercolor paper with other paints that may not play well together..Or even photos....I just don't want any pledge level with NOTHING in return. I don't like the "give me money to help me" thing. If you pledge you should want something back!

This is for a 6x4 painting that is matted to fit neatly into an 8x 10 frame. I have a reward where I frame the painting for you but I am SOOO picky. I want particular frames that are big, I only use glass not plexiglass. SO if this just makes it easier for you to frame a piece once you get it. Of course, 6x4 IS a standard size so you can fit this in a small frame already. Just if you want the mat. I think these will be neat matted

This is for a matted painting that you can just stick into a 11x 14 frame. These paintings are odd sized so I will mat them so they will fit in a standard sized frame and send them your way. As I noted earlier I am picky about frames..I hate metal..despise pexiglass. This just lets you do it yourself with less pain. I

One small sky watercolor postcard (6x4) matted and framed. Rather than put these in small frames (you can go get nice small frames for these yourself!). I will matt the painting and put it in a larger, wood box frame. This is a little bit of a pain in the butt for me since I am a framing chimp but I am keeping the cost close to..well..the cost of materials and shipping.

It has been brought to my attention that some folks have limited space or need to put paintings "in the corners". I am offering two square paintings that are a continuous piece that you can place on opposite walls. You can also pick the size and the depth of the paintings. the sizes can be 6x6, 8x8 or 10x10. Depths from standard 3/4 inch or 1 1/2 inch depths. Unframed
