Kickstarter

The idea for this book was hatched a year and a half ago while I was student teaching in Texas. As a kid, I was always afraid of the dark and, as I understand it, mine was not a unique phobia. Lots of kids get scared when the lights go out. The little owl in this story is just like every kid who's ever been afraid of the dark. But darkness gets a bad reputation. I think we need to see darkness in a new light. God created darkness, after all. He makes it, just like he makes light. And nighttime is actually a time that doesn't need to scare children. Just the opposite, in fact. Those bumps in the night aren't monsters intent on devouring children. They're natural sounds that play a part in the nighttime chorus that praises God before sunrise. That's what this book is about. 

And plus, who doesn't like a book about an owl? And a burrowing owl, no less!
