Friends of the Poster Biennial,
We are only 20 hours away from the expiration of our Kickstarter project, and the goal is clear. We need an additional $9,000 in pledges to successfully complete this fundraiser, reward our supporters with the books and posters we promised, open our competitions to the world, and begin producing the many events associated with this public arts initiative. Please make an effort today to reach out to friends and advocate our cause. It's up to us. Thank you for everything you've done.
$9,373 in 44 hours. That's what we need to finalize the funding and guarantee the future of the only open international poster biennial in the United States for 2012.
Your pledge has gotten us this far. You can help us further to push this successfully home by recruiting new pledgers. Send emails, post to Facebook, pick up the phone to talk to your friends—reach out to those people who feel the same way you do about the value of this initiative and to people who simply want to be rewarded for their pledge with some great posters. You may also consider increasing your pledge to receive a different reward. Whatever you can do to help, please consider doing so today.
Thank you.
Legendary American graphic designer, Woody Pirtle, has created his poster for the 3rd Chicago International Poster Biennial, and this is the first opportunity to see it. We are honored that Mr. Pirtle has agreed to serve as the President of our 3rd Biennial jury. His work has been internationally lauded for more than four decades, and this most recent creation adds to his legacy as one of the preeminent graphic designers working today.
There’s only one way to own Mr. Pirtle’s poster: make a pledge to the CIPB Kickstarter project. Those who can make a pledge of at least $100 to our effort will receive three out of the seven Biennial posters being designed by our jury members. To guarantee that you receive all seven jury posters (plus Paula Scher's fantastic 2nd Biennial poster), make a pledge of $250 or more.
We have only a few days left to make our funding goal. Please pass the word... and make sure to tell your friends that an original poster by Woody Pirtle is just one amazing reward that can be earned with a pledge. Thank you for your support. Please help us push successfully to the finish!
Many thanks to everyone who has pledged to support the Chicago International Poster Biennial to date. We have a mere 7 days left to reach our funding goal... with a significant amount of work remaining to get there.
The CIPBA is a 501(c)3 non-profit entity run with 100% volunteer effort. We have no paid staff. We receive no grant money or corporate sponsorship money....no tax money directed from the City or any other cultural institutions. Our competitions are free to enter, so we do not profit from entry fees as many competitions do. We are powered by YOU, people who care about promoting the artistry--the poetry--of posters on our streets.
Please reach out to your own networks of friends, family, professional peers--those who care about supporting public arts initiatives as you do--to make sure the 2012 Biennial becomes reality. We want to reward you, and hundreds more backers, with the books and fabulous posters promised in our Kickstarter project.
It's up to all of us... let's reach the goal together. Share this link today.
