I love fairy tales.  From Greek mythology to Grimm, there is  something that inspires and awes me about the fantastical characters and situations from the stories of our youth.  Who doesn't fondly remember The Three Little Pigs or Snow White as their bed time story?  And I also love painting.  As a lucky stay at home mother since June last year, I was able to put a lot of time and effort into my love of creation while I wasn't entertaining the three year old.  (Nap time rocks)

So, knowing the above, it stands to reason that I should love painting fairy tales, which is true!

I've sold about 2 dozen paintings locally and online in the last year but the hobby is slow, and supplies for new paintings only come if I've made a sale.  With all of my moving lately for my husband's job, I not only lost my studio back in my home town, but I've had little time and energy to promote my art and have had very few sales, and thus have exhausted my supplies and cannot purchase more.

Since I've had a lot of time to brainstorm ideas while not painting, though, I thought it would be really exciting to have a whole series of like-sized and themed fairy tales to create a calendar and prints from, something I've never done before.

I intend to paint 12 or more large abstract fairy tale paintings to have as a series under my belt and then have them scanned into digital content to create prints and ultimately a calendar.

Your dollars will go to the new paints, canvases and brushes required for the project and rewards along with paint additives for flow aid, thickening, etc, scanning and printing services to scan, adjust, and distribute my paintings for digital use, and a safe and clean environment to create my paintings in.

Contributing to this project is not just supporting entrepreneurship, it is supporting a dream, a lifelong goal, and a mother who loves painting for income because it allows her to stay home with her son.  Expanding my business to include prints and calendars will give this venture a chance to get new customers and distribute my work to a much broader audience.

Prints will all be finished and shipped at the same time, so even if your custom painting takes a little while, all prints should be shipped out in early July.

If this project gets funded and you need to receive your reward sooner than the anticipated delivery date, please let me know, as I am more than happy to schedule rewards projects differently.  Just keep in mind that higher level pledges will require my time to paint, and I intend to do a quality job!  If you pledge for a reward that is a custom piece, I will want to be in contact with you to make sure the piece is turning out like what you hoped.
