The Austin debut from the Bottle Alley Theatre Company. Experimental, grunge theatre at it's finest!
About STAGE: STAGE is a new experimental play from writer/director Chris Fontanes and the first installment, Austin debut, and professional debut from the Bottle Alley Theatre Company. STAGE, a modern drama, looks inwards at the very workings of a theatrical performance, blurring the line between the audience and the performers and begging the question of what performance, or what THEATRE, even truly is. Performances shall take place in a warehouse-turned-punk-rock venue called The Broken Neck, an infamous and hidden hole-in-the-wall graffiti-covered venue that truly captures the essence of STAGE - poor, grunge theatre at it absolute finest.
About Bottle Alley Theatre Company: Bottle Alley Theatre Company is a collection of creative minds, theatrical rebels, and college friends. We strive to push the limits of theatre and to create new and exciting collaborative works from both within the company as well as outside members.
About The Broken Neck: The Broken Neck is literally a warehouse, sandwiched between two automotive repair shops on the Austin's east side. Those searching for it for the first time, often drive right past it as there are no identifying signs on the exterior of the building. Upon discovering it, you are exposed to its grunge ambiance - a warehouse with concrete floors and graffiti covering the walls, often times with instruments and set lists still lingering on the floor from the previous night's punk rock concert. The Broken Neck, which has hosted theatrical and dance performances in the past, serves as a perfect venue to capture the essence of STAGE
Why we need YOUR help: Money. It all comes down to money, doesn't it? Every day I pass the new Topher Theatre, with it's steel beams and beautiful glass, and wonder how many millions of dollars was donated for them to build this structure. We receive no grants or any sort of financial help. We do not have money leftover from a show before. We are completely independent. We are now hoping for the help and support of people like you - people who work all day on their feet, living from paycheck-to-paycheck. Just like us. Just know that any funds that you may donate shall be going DIRECTLY into the production. Fortunately, like most people on a budget, we both know and understand the value of a dollar and how to stretch it.
Performance Dates: The anticipated performance dates for the debut of STAGE are the last weekend in August and the first weekend of September. Four nights, four shows.

For one dollar you have purchased yourself some good karma. Why grudgingly give a dollar to that homeless man on the corner when you can give it to us? If great (well, good) karma wasn't good enough you will get your name in the program in small font (and in something like Comic Sans). You will also receive a photo text of a cat named Keke, being fat and disinterested

Your ten dollar donation purchases you some great karma as well as your name in the program as well as on our social media pages, plus a shout-out on my personal accounts as well. I'll also send you a photo text of a gigantic sheepdog. If that wasn't good enough, you'll receive an autographed program from the entire cast and crew. If you're nowhere near the show, we'll mail it to you!

Your twenty dollar donation will go a long way to making Stage becoming a reality! Twenty dollars can go a long away at Goodwill. The perks of your generous donation gets you everything mentioned above (name in the program, shout-outs on social media, autographed program, and even the photo texts of the animals if you want them) but also gets you a free ticket to the show! And because this doesn't seem all that different from the previous reward - you shall receive a prop of your choice from the show! There are ink splattered pages in the show - for twenty dollars, prepare to receive a framed one! Lastly, you'll receive a personal phone call from the writer/director, thanking you for your donation.

Now we start to get into some serious love. Your above-average donation warrants some above-average loving. You'll receive everything above (the karma, the name in the program, the social media shout-outs, the autographed program, the framed ink splattered page, the phone call, and even the pictures of the animals if you truly want them. Heck for fifty dollars, I'll send you a picture of the animals every day if you want) as well as three tickets to the show. You'll also receive an additional phone call from a cast member of your choice - you'll be pretty much bogged down with calls of love. Can't decide on one? We'll surprise you with one!
