About this project
The Zentrum fur Keramik (the Ceramic Center) of Berlin has invited me to be a Residing Artist--they will provide me with a place to live and a studio to work in while I create ceramic sculptures for my show. At the end of the four-month residency, they will host an exhibition of the work I made. It's the first time I will show my work in Europe. And, Berlin has a thriving cutting-edge art scene--my work will fit right it in! Feel free to peek at my website: www.roxannejackson.com
This great opportunity to make and show my work in Berlin comes with a small fee--I will have to pay $ 875 for use of the studio facilities and general accommodations (for a four month stay). I'm not asking for help with my airfare--just some extra support for a place to work and sleep. Anything over my goal will go towards purchasing art materials and shipping my work back to the states (Ceramic sculptures of human-like animals, can be quite heavy)!
This opportunity is too good to pass up so, I have already managed to purchase my round-trip tickets to Germany. Your participation will support this collaboration of ideas between an american sculptor and the thriving art scene of Berlin. I hope you find this cause worthy to support--by pledging, you will have also directly supported the launching of my international art career!
