What Is Offensive?

Offensive, is based around the idea that censorship of any kind can stunt creative freedom. This is done by mixature of interviews with creators of, what some deem to be, offensive content and with people on the street. Focusing not just on one region or political force.

The film hopes to show that we are missing out on some of the most unique films, music, and video games because of archiac ideas surrounding the nature of them. While doing this, I also want it to be fun and entertaining. Using the same kind of senationalism that has caused stigma, to help bring to light what we are missing out on because of preconceived notions.

This isn't a political documentary. It's not about blaming one side or the other. It's about spreading the crap, so hopefully something cool can come from it. It's everyone's fault,, that only the bravest and the boldest are beaking new ground in certain mediums.

The Crew

I am Stephen Ardrey. I am used to being a one man army when it comes to these sort of projects. Through my career as a video game journalist, I have had to self promote constantly. I also have the guts to say what needs to be said, even if no one wants to hear it.

I believe in producing quality art, that can also reach a broader audience. I am not a heavy handed tactician. I believe that if you really want to reach people with an idea or a group of ideas that you need to use a certain cander and humor. This makes them laugh before they think. In a way, it's the sugar coated razor blade approach.

Why This Film?

It's pretty simple, no creator likes being told what they should make. If I were to go around this community and tell everyone how I would do something, people would hate me. All to often, this is what creators have to deal with and the internet age hasn't made it any better. It needs to be made and seen before we lose more of our creative rights.

Ok, So who the hell is going to be in it?

I don't have cash to donate, what can I do?

I am always happy with a Facebook like and some words of encouragement. It helps as much anything else does.

Why 15,000?

This is going to be very travel intensive. I want to be hands on with the project from start to finish. I know that at times if you hand it over to others, you get something you didn't intend to have. There is also the matter of equipment.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, my good audio and visual equipment was destroyed. Without going into the sob worthy details, it need to be replaced. Hence why there isn't a proper video and why I keep reworking it.

When Will It Be Done?

Shooting and everything will be done by September. Those with All-Access passes will get daily updates on production and travel footage daily. That being said, you have more of a choice on when you see it, than I do.

Final Thoughts

I hate to beg, but please give. I am giving every ounce of my energy I can into this project. I am posting on forums, posting in local papers, and trying to reach out in anyway I can. That being said, donations will help to make this a great film.

You don't have to give 10 grand for my appreciation. 5 bucks at this point means the world into getting this brought to the widest possible market.
