I want a refund. You misrepresented the ease of taking care of jelly fish. I took my tank down after my jellies died after less than two weeks being in the tank. I spoke to several professionals in the aquarium field and learned that jellies are very difficult to keep alive in captivity. The video that Alex made conveyed a very easy and fun pet. After many miscommunications with your company and little if no help on the litany of problems I incurred I am asking for a refund before I consider a class action suit against jellyfishart.com. A fast reply would be appreciated

      Hi Carlos,
The FAQ for this project states that we are not able to ship jellyfish internationally. We are only able to ship tanks and accessories outside the U.S. In the past, we have only sent jellyfish to the continental U.S. and Hawaii because our shipper guarantees an overnight delivery.

With this said, we are currently investigating ways to send jellies to you in Puerto Rico. For a quicker response, please contact our customer representatives (info@jellyfishart.com) who will update you on our progress.

      Thanks!

Hello Alex , I writes yesterday to jellyfish art because i never received the coupon voucher thats was supposed to be included with the tank. And today I received a email from Mark Regal of Jellyfish art thats say "I looked up your order and found that you were an international kickstarter which means we applied the $100 discount voucher to your international shipping costs. Shipping from US to Puerto Rico cost us over 100 dollars, but we didn't charge you for that. The shipping price also included any tariffs and taxes USPS charges us. Unfortunately, we cannot ship you any live orders or frozen food to Puerto Rico because FedEx does permit it (we cannot send Overnight). I am sorry for the confusion Carlos, If you have any more questions, please e-mail us at info@jellyfishart.com

Before i make my order more than 6 month ago i write you a email to know if jellyfish art ship to Puerto Rico, and you never tell my that the shipping was in exchange of my voucher coupon, and more important you never tell me that you cannot send me the jellyfish. If I buy a jellyfish thank its because i want jellyfish inside them "sound logic to me". Sorry if i sound rude but i am really mad because first i have problems with the shipping of my tank, then i have problem with the voucher and the most important you can't send me the Jellyfish

I have lost 2 jellies and am trying nurse one from the grave. Do you think we will get a redesign or a fix for the tank?! With the BCOD and the dirty water is this tank sustainable for more than a month?

I must be one of the lucky ones or the changes I made really worked out. I have had the jellyfish alive and well for a week now. I feed them decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. I covered the substrate with a 1/4" layer of fine white marine sand. I have five snails, four hermit crabs, an inch long sea cucumber, a one inch long shrimp, and bicolor dottyback fish. All live in harmony and I didn't even acclimate the jellyfish longer than 20 minutes each.

I have three jellyfish: two small and one four inches wide. There is no suction at the bottom and I have seen them just float and bump against the air channel at the top with no ill effects. Everything works as intended and I really enjoy watching them dance around together in harmony with the other sea creatures.

I used RO water and Instant Ocean sea salt mixture. Good luck to everyone else in their endeavors!

      Sorry for the delay, everyone!

Nathan and pflautt: We apologize for the wait. Please email us at info@jellyfishart.com so we can check up on your orders!

Lana: While jellies are delicate they have a pretty unique ability to bounce back and recover. Make sure the torn jellies are getting plenty of food (try focus feeding them!) so they can regenerate their lost tissue. Also do an additional 20% water change - this will help them heal quicker. Feel free to call us with any questions! 415-373-6049

I've had the tank for a couple weeks now. I believe there is an issue with the current and rocks. I lost one jellyfish already do to him hitting the rocks and then eventually getting stuck over and over.
The past 2 mornings I'v woken up to find the other jellyfish to start doing the same thing. This morning he looked shrunken and crippled after getting out of the rocks. One jelly looks healthy still and hasn't been stuck in the rocks yet.

Even one find a good solution? There not getting sucked up in the bubble chamber or anything

    24. Fb_profile_picture.thumb
      Tim McKinley on March 4

In regards to the suction problems, we had a similar problem but have since solved it. Number one- we added sand to the bottom of the tank. This was not in the instructions and may not be recommended.
But it was a very little amount of live aquarium sand poured over the rocks. Our jellies pass right over the rocks now, no problems, BUT we were having jellies sucked down the bubble channel then if they got too close.
So we solved that issue by putting some plastic grid stuff at the mouth of the bubble channel and they can't even get themselves stuck if they tried. Pictures on my website: www.twopiecesofeight.com
This is only day 3 for us, but so far, all three jellies are happy and healthy.

It needs to be pointed-out that, aside from the beauty of the tank, the entire design was based around the fact that "jellyfish can’t go in a regular fish tank because they get sucked into the filtration intakes".
Yet the only solution to prevent just that is to add substrate around the intake.
Unfortunately, even that doesn't seem to be a solution.

When not being swirled around counter-clockwise by the strong current, my poor guys keep getting stuck, despite having well over .5" of substrate piled up and around the intake. and .5" of water above the output (I've measured).
I'm curious as to how well the prototype with the air diffuser worked and cost.

Came home to find that my replacement jellyfish had died a mere 3 days after recieving them, that's a total of 6 dead now. I'm really disappointed in this product. Despite following all the instructions included with the tank as well as on jellyfishart.com, the tank seems incapable of sustaining life for more than 72 hours.

Placed my order for fish and food. Couldn't get the gift certificate applied to the order but I'm going to trust it will all get straightened out tomorrow.

      Waiting for first delivery.

Thanks for the quick response Alex. With a little futzing I figured out the problem. The blue one way valve had been installed the wrong way around (would imagine it might be hard to discern in production as both ends look quite similar. I reverse the valve and the pump is now functioning correctly. You might want to have your QA folks double check this before shipping other units and add to the FAQ on your main site. Hope that helps and keep up the good work. You guys have achieved a lot in a short time with a disruptive business model. People who don't understand that there are going to be some initial teething problems don't understand what Kickstarter projects are about.

      Hi Adam,

If you are having problems with your pump please contact us at info@jellyfishart.com so we can help you out.

Tino, if you are unsatisfied with our product or service in any way we are more than happy to accept your return and issue you a refund. I understand we were a bit late delivering the product, but it was because we put a lot of hard work into making sure the Tank was top quality. We are very grateful for our supporters and we do not want you to be unhappy. Please contact us in the next couple days at info@jellyfishart.com if you would like to pursue this.

I have lost 3 jellyfishes already!!! I have only had mines since Friday. That's not even a week of having them. The jellyfish keeps on getting stuck on the substrate. I have tried to bend the air tube so there would be less air pressure = less water suction, but even that doesn't work. Is anyone else out there having this same problem as me? What have you done to prevent it from happening again? I don't want to keep loosing jellyfish.

      PUMP PROBLEM?
Hopefully this is user error as opposed to a problem with my tank but I've received and setup my tank and awaiting delivery on Friday. However I'm not seeing the bubbling action from the air pump that I see here - http://www.youtube.com/watch…

In fact while there is water in the pipe connected to the tank and it flows out when disconnected from the pipe there's no air coming out. Is this a defect? Anything I'm doing wrong or can investigate to fix?

      Much appreciated Adam.

Oblique- thank you for insulting me very mature, btw I learned of the cheaper price and fab.com on here. I understand the purpose of kickstarter. Point is prior to shipment a package deal was offered on fab.com at a lower price not available to us, we all got the product at the same time. I just thought that being that Alex was able get his project started because of his backers that he would be grateful.

@Curt I agree with you 100%, Kickstarter is exactly what it sounds like to "KICK Start" a product. Just because the designer decides to charge more or less of the final product doesn't disregard the fact that you helped back them and got the benefit of the first shipped product.

So @Tino you need to get a life and stop tolling on the internet, if your not satisfied return your Tank to Jellyfish Art for a refund and reorder it wherever else. It's as simple as that.

@Tino - I viewed my pledge as a good value when I made it, and it is no less of a value because somebody else can now get it cheaper than I did.

Kickstarter is not about ordering products, it's about backing an idea to make the products possible. I don't feel in any way "ripped off", as I have helped an awesome idea become a reality.

I've backed 19 projects, and nearly all of them have experienced some delays. In fact, I just received an update that one of the projects I'm backing which had an estimated delivery date of last October may be able to start shipping next week. It's just the nature of start-up businesses.

By the way, I couldn't be more pleased with what I've received from Alex. The tank arrived Thursday, but I had to wait until Friday to unpack it. Then, I spent Saturday running the RO filter and mixing saltwater, and placed my live order on Sunday. I was sure that the Jellyfish Art folks would be overwhelmed by then and wouldn't be able to ship right away, but my jellyfish arrived today, and are happily getting used to their new home now.

I think I'm up to 6 projects backed. I am huge advocate of small business and I love the idea of "kickstarting" someone's dream. What I don't like is feeling that I was taken advantage of before I even get my "dividend." The fab.com idea was a terrible choice by Alex and crew at this juncture . Particularly when no matter how you do the math...we still pay more then they do.

I think, at the end of it all, this project just makes me really sad. I was excited about being able to give my daughter this amazing opportunity to have jellyfish in her own room as a Christmas gift. I believed in what Alex and his team were doing. All of the information I found led me to believe this would be great. Now it's the end of February. My daughter didn't get the large gift I had for her because my money was tied up in this. Now it's going to cost another $150 to finish the gift and the reports coming from people who have received their tanks are that it doesn't come close to what was promised.

Somehow, Alex, you need to make this right. Not just for me and my daughter but for all of the people who believed in you and your vision.
