With just 3 hours left to pledge, before Atheist Shoes become officially 'funded', I just wanted to say once again how very grateful we are for your support. What started as a peculiar idea that made us smile has, in the last 4 weeks, become a very real and tangible project that is going to beautify 600 feet and, hopefully, create some ripples of enjoyment wherever those feet tread. It's quite an amazing thing... we're still pretty stunned that we now have a small shoe business on our hands... and we owe it all to your pledges. So thank you, THANK YOU, for altering the lives of a handful of atheists in Berlin and for giving them the opportunity to do something fun and interesting that they really think worthwhile. After this first batch of shoes is made, who knows what the future will hold... but we have decided we're going to make more shoes and that we're going to try our very best to make Atheist Shoes a sustainable enterprise. This Kickstarter page is hopefully just a beginning... but we'll let your feet decide what kind of future we have .)
Some housekeeping:
All pledgers, please know that this page will remain open indefinitely and that we will still be able to communicate here. Nonetheless, in the coming days, I will request email addresses from all of you and, shoe pledgers, I will send you your special "passcodes" which will allow you to claim your shoes on our website, which is still scheduled to launch in late April / very beginning of May. Those of you who have pledged to have something other than shoes, you won't need passcodes and you will receive your rewards in the near future.... updates on each reward category to come!
As for the estimated delivery of shoes.... well, things are moving at a brisk pace, the first steps towards production have been taken in Portugal and it looks like we won't be too far off our original target of end of April for first deliveries. But I estimate that we are probably 7 to 10 days behind schedule... so a reasonable expectation for first deliveries would now be the first week of May. Again, things are changing everyday, so this date may move forward or backward... but I'll keep you up to speed at every turn in the coming weeks.
