Update #23: Project Oliver - Season Two begins!
Hello Kickstarter 85!
Season One of the Project Oliver web series has come to a close and I'm ready and excited to begin Season Two! I'm hoping this season we are able to raise the funds needed for a new home for Oliver! While I can't promise this goal will be reached, I intend to step up my efforts this year.
Oliver is doing quite well at the Primarily Primates Animal Sanctuary and as you may have seen in the Eagle Scouts video, he had some new enrichment elements added to his habitat by the a San Antonio Eagle Scout troop. Additionally one of the Kickstarter.com "Home for Oliver" supporters, Shelly Ladd, has made a major commitment to the sanctuary by volunteering her time and expertise to enrichment for the animals, as well as becoming an administrator for the Primarily Primates Facebook page. She visits Oliver daily and having more than 30 years of primate expertise, she has offered to help take Project Oliver towards it's goal.
Please visit the Primarily Primates Facebook page and "Like" it at the link below, and you will receive updates on the sanctuary as well as Project Oliver.

Also if you haven't done it yet, please visit the Project Oliver facebook page at:

I am uncertain how much longer I will be able to use Kickstarter.com for contacting you, so if you'd like to continue to be updated, please visit the Project Oliver website and sign in for updates:

Additionally it's time for me to send out "Home for Oliver" Supporter gifts, so please make sure I have your mailing address and email address. Send this information through Kickstarter.com, or through the Project Oliver website. Even if you've done so already, please do it again.
Thanks everyone for your support.
Best Regards,

Update #21: End of year update!
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to update you on the progress of "Project Oliver". There is currently a new video posted on the www.projectoliver.com website at the link below:
Additionally there are several more in the editing pipeline which I will begin posting over the next few days and weeks.
In 2011 I'll be meeting with a habitat designer/builder for a possible new home for Oliver. Then in the next few months becomes the difficult, but I believe not impossible task of raising money to build Oliver his new home. If all goes well, within the next several months I hope to make this a reality so that Oliver can once again know what it's like to walk on grass!
Thanks everyone for getting behind this project, and have a Happy New Year!

Update #18: Home for Oliver update!
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to update you on the "Home for Oliver" project. Zoticus Design has nearly finished the design of the website where the webisodes and project information will have it's home. Recently I took photographer Traci Goudie to the sanctuary where she volunteered her services to take photos of Oliver, the staff and other animals. You will be seeing some of those photos on the website soon.
I have shot three webisodes for the series, which will be be posted once the website is ready.
More info about the website, series and progress of the project...coming soon!
Thanks again for supporting this project!

Update #17: Home For Oliver update
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to update you on progress for the "Home for Oliver" project.
I have recently signed a contract with the team at Zoticus Design to build a website for the project. They loved this project and the potential to help build Oliver and new home.
While the website is being built, I will be creating the first few webisodes for "Home for Oliver".
This past week I documented a San Antonio Eagle Scouts troop, who volunteered to build enrichment elements for Oliver and Raisin's current enclosure.
If anyone out there would like certain questions answered in the series, or there are specific topics you'd like addressed, please let me know as I'd greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks again for supporting the project!

Update #16: Update
Hello Everyone!
I'm back from shooting a documentary in New York and am ready to get to work on this Oliver web series. I'll be going to the sanctuary this weekend to shoot some enrichment additions to Oliver's current habitat.
Thanks again to everyone. Your pledges will allow me to create this web series over the next four to six months, possibly longer. With the web series I hope to help raise funds for the design and building of new grass bottomed habitats for Oliver and other chimpanzees at the sanctuary.
Now to work on the series.
Best,
Andy
Update #15: Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!
We did it! I am in New York City shooting a film about Sherpa who live here, and I left the apartment to go shoot scenics today expecting to return and most likely see that "Home for Oliver" didn't get funded. With more than $1900.00 remaining to be raised and only 3 hours to raise it, I still had hope that it would happen, but was prepared that it may not. Well it did! Several people pushed it over the top and now it's time to make a web series that will tell Oliver's story, and hopefully inspire the funding of his new habitat!
I will return to Austin, early next week and begin shooting the first episode on June 19th. I'll always be open for suggestions along the way, and would appreciate any feedback or questions as the series progress'.
Thank you everyone for supporting this project!

Update #12: We're past the halfway mark!
Wow, I just got back from a long day shoot on another documentary film that I'm producing, and I discovered several new pledges! We have 70 supporters! There's still a ways to go to reach the funding goal and I think it can be done. I had a few more ideas today of people and organizations I can send the link to, and if you think of anyone else, please feel free to send the link below.
Thanks everyone!

Update #10: Home For Oliver just stepped past the halfway mark!
I'm on a plane to New York City where I'll be shooting another documentary for a week.
I'll try to do some updates while I'm there. Please feel free to post the "Home for Oliver" link anywhere you think appropriate.
Thanks,
Andy
Update #9: Almost 60 backers for "Home for Oliver"!
Seven days to go and almost 60 backers! I've seen other Kickstarter projects that were in their last day or two with half of their goal, all of the sudden get a surge and become fully funded.
So there's still plenty of hope! Thanks everyone.
