Six Park Scholars from NC State travel to Belize to document educational and environmental outreach efforts.

We believe that responsibility, sustianability, and accountability are critical aspects of international service that are often overlooked in student-led service initiatives, and we aim to change that through our trip to Belize, documenting the effect that sustainable, community-led organizations can have on the health of their communities. We will be working with the Holy Cross Anglican School and the Belize Zoo to improve their infrastructure, work with their efforts in environmental preservation and local education, and to meet some of those responsible for the extraordinary work that these groups are doing. To be able to bring something back to our community here in Raleigh, we are producing an artistic documentary of our experience with the purpose of inspiring others to follow in the footsteps of responsible international service. To this end, we are asking for funds to support the creation of this documentary (still camera, flip cam) and to offset the on the ground costs of producing the documentary (Exit taxes, local transportation, etc...). Thank you for all of your help!
