Totally funded in 25 hours? Over $17,600 in just two and half days? 130 backers using the power of individual social media alone?
Guys, I'm stunned.
I hardly even know what to say. Regardless, I wanted to take this time to say SOMETHING because everybody who's going to get this message is responsible for an amazing launch and I am so, so humbled by all the support.
So thank you. Thank you so much. I'm so blown away. I've literally said that a hundred times by now, so I'm sorry if that's getting old - but it's true. I had no idea this project could have such a committed following!
In truth, however, $15,000 is just the beginning - and now that we've met the all-or-nothing goal, we can really start spreading the message to everybody in America.
I'm sorry I've been so quiet for the past day, but with the massive explosion of progress my entire long-term strategy just got hurtled up to the first few days, and I was caught off guard getting ready for what's to come.
So what's on the horizon?
Making the headlines this story deserves.
What to expect in the coming weeks:
Now that we're funded with a great kick, we can really take this message to the limits and back. Right now I've got a huge list in front of me with the names and addresses of high profile and relevant facebook fan pages, blogs, news outlets and radio stations that will be getting a personal message asking them to help us out by spreading the word.
For the next seven days, that will be taking up the majority of time, but the hope is that we can get even more people on board - even if they only get an e-book or spread the word. As the project grows, you will hopefully see a lot more about Stryker in the headlines. Hopefully we can even make it o the mainstream media.
But that's not going to happen by itself - it's totally up to us to spread the word.
Right now it's all about volume.
Don't get me wrong, the money we raise will go a long way towards marketing this book and pushing our story out to the world, but our biggest priority is to get as many people as possible aware of the project and eager to get their hands on a copy.
So what can you do?
Personal connections! That's the best bet. Go down your list of friends and followers around the internet and in real life. Find everybody who you think might be interested in hearing our story and then ask them personally to check out the book. Point them at the prologue if they want a sample. Show them the website and the video.
Personal connections are what will make the difference in the long run - finding people who are receptive to the story and will listen to what you have to say.
Other than that, if you know of any social outlets with a ton of followers in a relevant topic, either message me with the contact details or make a personal connection to ask them for help spreading the word. Ideally, you can get them to share the video with a link to http://www.strykerbook.com so they can pre-order the book.
Again, personal connections are what we're after, and the payoff will be huge. The more people we can get to back this project, the closer we'll get to a mainstream media connection.
