BW Moving Images is producing a film called Diary of the Dragon: The (R)Evolution of Fred Ho. A world-renowned radical Chinese-American baritone saxophonist, composer, writer, producer, matriarchal Luddite socialist and part-time farmer, Ho has been fighting advanced colo-rectal cancer since 2006. When his cancer returned in September 2010, he made the risky decision to treat it without traditional medicine or drugs. Fred Ho is a living revolution, his own body the battleground in an uncompromising war for survival. Ho believes that we must do away with our cancerous, capitalist society. He believes that the "impossible" is the only starting point worth pursuing. His words are piercing lasers of scathing, critical analysis. His music is a strident outcry against containment, control and categorization. He is a man followed by controversy, either loved or hated, but always exciting.
Since January 2011 we have been documenting Fred's life; hospital visits, alternative treatments, interviewing his friends, family, performances, altercations, private lessons with students; even daily errands and quiet moments.
Your donations will be used to pay for equipment needs, production days and crew, and most importantly, editing, post production and distribution.
Your donations will bring the story of Fred Ho- a man who ignites small fires in everyone he encounters- to the world.
