Who Are You Guys?

Welcome to our project!  We are Daniel and Christina Morrison, a husband and wife team.  We own and operate Remnant Studios, a multimedia company located on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado.  We have a great fantasy story (Tarnished) that we can't wait to share with you!

Since we’re a media company, we’d like to tell our story eventually through film.  But first, we decided to publish Tarnished as a book, (which we JUST did ourselves:  http://www.amazon.com/Tarnished-ebook/dp/B007M5QYCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337300312&sr=8-1), and then turn it into a dramatized audio-book (which is where we need your help!).

Okay, What's Tarnished About?

Well, for starters, here's our blurb on the back of the book:

"A journey to find purpose is about to entangle Garyn in a fight for the survival of the entire Human Race!

Leaving the isolated Sylvanwood to enter the diversely populated city of the Tarns sounded like a grand adventure. But the boy, Garyn Stelifar had never envisioned a world where his lack of magical power would incite fear and social prejudice; where simply being Human is a liability.

Stumbling upon unlikely allies, he’ll need every friend as he squares off with Orkyn Nefandym, an evil wizard who harbors a festering hatred for any kin of his arch rival, Ven Stelifar, Garyn’s father. This battle will tax more than Garyn’s friends, but also his own resolve to follow the path laid out for him by the One who sent him on the journey.  Dealing with dragons, goblins and a vile wizard while discovering other Humans, will prove harrowing. But the best way to share Tarnished with you is through the words of another reader:

"I started reading 'Tarnished' with the intention of reading it in small bites.  However, I was totally and completely hooked from the beginning, and I did not want to, and would not put it down.  I was compelled to find out the connection between the characters introduced in the prologue - Torvid Firestorm (the dragon), Nefandym (the wizard), Ven Stelifar and the child.  And just what was the "Call of the Treasure" that burned deep within Torvid?  Why was Nefandym fighting Ven Stelifar?  Where was Sylvanwood in relationship to Tarsia? What was Tarsia like?  Who were the goblins of Dar Quar?  Who was the child and why was he so important?  And what was the Prophecy of Omni Kolme?  I had to find out, just as I know you will too.

'Tarnished' has the classic story of good vrs evil, very imaginative characters, and a unique story line.  Some readers may find that it reminds them of another classical story (it's quite exciting to come to that realization).  Just when I thought I had figured out the plot, the story deepened and took me down a fascinating road of twists and turns, with the authors masterfully tying together every detail.  This is a book you do not want to start reading at 10 pm on Sunday night (like I did, even though it was totally worth it to read it through to the end).  I was shouting "bravo" when I finished at 2 am.  I found Tarnished to be an extremely delightful read and I highly recommend it."

So, You're Making an Audio Book?

Yes!   We'll use the funding to create an audio-book that is more like a dramatized adventure.   We want to add music, sound effects, and have additional voice character actors.  Even though we're a media company and can do a lot of the work ourselves, it takes quite a bit of time and expense to dramatize a 252 page book! 

We already hired a Scottish voice artist to narrate the entire book (John Cavanagh did a SUPERB job).  But we need to hire composers to create original music, voice talent to give the characters their own unique flair, and mix over 500 gigabytes of sound effects that were donated by Ric Viers of BlastWave FX.  We'll also be purchasing the materials for the tangible audio-book (cd's, cases, and any needed design work).  It's going to be a ton of fun, though--we can't wait to get started!
