Update #4: Week One is a success! Stay tuned for Week Two!!
Week one of the exquisite corpse festival was a success! Thank you so much for helping us pay the deposit for the rent! Now we just need to sell enough beer to pay for the other half! :)
We wanted to share the most exciting on-site performance so far: exquisite-corpse tattoo-as-performance. Here is a photo of James mid-way through the process. Lalo had just finished tattooing the head, covered it up so that Nick could tattoo the body without being influenced by what's under the paper. Lalo, Nick, and Matt are all artists from http://www.sacredtattoo.com/
If you live in NYC or are just in for a visit, stop by their art gallery attached to their tattoo shop and tell them you're friends of the corpse!
(Also, if you want to win won of our fabulous raffle prizes [donated by Sonos, Lip Service, Running Press, and Le Poisson Rouge] let me know and I'll hook you up with tickets!)
Update #3: Exquisite Taxidermy?!?
Our Exquisite Corpse sideshow event at the festival is going to be a little guy named "Pet". As a sideshow, only audience members who buy the sideshow ticket will be able to do so...but since you're a backer, we'll let you have a sneak peak!
(If you're not a backer, c'mon and kick in a dollar...that's how much the sideshow ticket costs!)
;)
Update #2: Sneak Peak of an Exquisite Corpse Song!
Update #1: Dance Rehearsals Start!
The Umbrella Co. starts rehearsals for the Exquisite Corpse Festival. Although they never met each other and will never dance together until the dress rehearsal, but there will be three different dance companies dancing on stage at the same time!
So excited to bring this show to the Richmond Shepard Theater!

Connected as Jason Tyne-Zimmerman (930 friends)
Jason Tyne-Zimmerman is the artistic director of the Exquisite Corpse Festival and the Curator of many of the projects. In art school, the corpse was a get-to-know-you game we played in the dorms the first week...and now I am using the game as a get-to-know-you for artists in New York City and around the world! My goal is to connect as disparate matches of artists as I possibly can. Homeless outsider artists working with professional illustrators from DC and Marvel...award-winning playwrights working with fourth graders...my mom working with globe-trotting artists! Everyone is an artist, and we celebrate them all!
