Connected as Joe Bacharka (173 friends)
New Mexico based filmmaker, Joe has a real passion for filmmaking. In addition to his work in the Indie circuit, Joe has credits on over 20 feature films. Starting his career in 1997, he helped launch Showoff Productions, producing many commercial projects.
Following his dream of creating for the big screen Joe has found himself on many $100 million dollar plus productions such as T4, Year One, Thor and Cowboys and Aliens.
“Living Frontier Days” was Joe's first directing credit. This documentary follows the lives, and family history, of The Worlds Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Western Celebration volunteers. Scheduled to be submitted to film fests in 2011.
“Sudden Solitude” is Joe's second directing project. This film tells the story of two back country snowboarders who get trapped in an avalanche. Their struggle to survive is complicated by a head injury. Amnesia leads one of the snowboarders to believe that being trapped in the snow is not real. Where does the mind draw the line between what is real and what is thought to be real? Snowboard footage filmed deep in the back country of NM. Filming will be complete in late 2010.
“New Methico, A Love Story” was developed by Joe Bovenzi as a prelude to its feature script. A year in development, Bacharka and Bovenzi decided it was time to produce this film as a tool to promote the feature story. Well on its way, this film has been blessed with both a talented cast and crew.
Personal Statement:
I have spent the past few years developing a team of professionals that can easily handle a project of this size. With many resources at our disposal, this films time is here. I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to bring this action packed story to life!
