About this project

We are producing a new documentary entitled Farmers' Markets: Good for America! which tracks the explosive growth of Farmers' Markets in this country and tells the story of why Americans increasingly seek fresh, healthy, good-tasting food through these flourishing centers of local commerce. We will show four successful Farmers' Markets in four regions of the country during four seasons: Four Stories, Four Regions, Four Seasons. The purpose of this documentary is to raise public awareness of the products, activities and economic benefits available to each community served by a Farmers' Market. We believe Farmers' Markets represent the hope of sustainable agriculture, revitalized local commerce and a new found sense of community. We will show that locally produced, farm-fresh food sold at Farmers' Markets brings nutritional balance and seasonal sustenance to local communities nationwide and in so doing, serve to rebuild local economies and support small farms. The targeted mass audience will be moved to seek out and support what is becoming the best and safest place to buy fresh produce, improve local commerce and meet neighbors - the local Farmers' Market.
