An evening-length multimedia dance performance exploring architectural space, outer space and what it means to be close.
Catellier Dance Projects is super excited about our next project, …the final frontier. Seven dancers, a dance media artist, a composer, a team of designers, a control technician, a robot camera and nine six-foot balloons have joined me, Gregory Catellier, in exploring architecture, outer space and what it means to be close. This piece is the second part in a series of evening-length works that each focus on different elements of dance. The series started last May with, Tempo, a non-fiction dance performance. It was a huge success.
…the final frontier is going to be even better. And more expensive. We have artists to compensate, dance floor to rent, helium to buy and a universe to construct in an elevator. The total budget is just over $10,000. We are asking the Kickstarter community to help us raise $2527.11. If you move the decimal point over two to the right, this number is the distance in miles from earth to the moon when they are farthest apart.
We’ve been working on this show since May 2011 and we are now in the final stages of putting all the elements together. It’s really shaping up, but for this show to happen we need your support. Please give what you can. We have some great swag for contributions five dollars and over.
