Update #4: More Backers and a Happy Hour!

Posted on August 1, 2009

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to all the new backers for pledging your support for BTTV. We are in the final 30 days, the home stretch if you will. We've got about $2000 more to go, so please spread the word. Every bit helps! The big news is we think we found a new designer. His name is Q and he's the greatest.

We had our first BTTV happy hour this past Thursday in Austin! Follow the link for pics.

We are continuing to refine our development and design goals. Plus we've met with some really great people who are advising us through this process. So far, so good.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Update #3: Line-Up Change and Some Interviews

Posted on July 15, 2009

Hi Everyone!

We wanted to let you all know that Harold (out web designer) had to back out of the project. It's a bummer and he will be missed. We are on the hunt for someone new. If you know of anyone, let us know!

We've also had some solid coverage as of late and we wanted to share it with you.

      Hey guys,
This is Todd from Language Room here in Austin. Check out http://www.fodastudio.com/. This guy is the best, hands down. He's a great friend of mine and does all of our artwork. His name is Jett Butler. Good luck! This is a great idea!

Update #2: Development, Design and Happy Hours!

Posted on June 26, 2009

Say hello to David and Harold. Dave is going to hold down the programming and Harold will drop in on the design. Great guys and crack shots when shooting skeet. We're in the preliminary phases of all that is the great BTTV awakening. To surmise, David's popped the hood on the site and is taking a look around. Meanwhile Harold's CSS-voodoo is taking shape. Exciting times!

We've got a couple photos of David and Harold. Harold looks a bit agitated, but he's just as friendly as David...maybe more so. Stay tuned...

Update #1: Project Launch!

Posted on June 18, 2009

It took a little time but our Kickstarter project is up and running. Thanks to everyone who has pledged their support so far! Thanks also to anyone who is helping to spread the word about BTTV and this project.

Tomorrow we meet with the developer and designer to go over specifics and finalize the scope of the project. Some of the design changes should happen rather quickly and I can't wait. The development stuff is going to take a bit longer.

Stay tuned. More updates coming....

I am a musician (drummer) and entrepreneur. I've played and toured in bands for about 10 years and co-founded a record label in Minneapolis before moving down to Austin, TX. Since my move I wanted to find a way to help bands tour and give music fans a unique way to support music. I created Better Than The Van (BTTV) to do just that. Bands have always landed on couches and floors after shows. I thought it was about time to take the idea online and see what happens. So far, so good!
