Welcome to our Kickstarter Project! NOCO is a non-profit contemporary dance company made up of 10 locally trained (Fresno, CA ) dancers founded in 2010 by Amy Querin, MFA. We are working to raise money for the upcoming premier of 'The Eternity Project' at our NOCO ROGUE SHOW 2012.
'The Eternity Project' is a 40-min multi-media collaboration involving original interviews, video, and choreography; Collaborators include NOCO director Amy Querin (choreography/ interviews), Jackie Aldern (video), Jaycee Wilson (sabre choreography), Spencer Ruell (choreography), Wes Hansen (set design) and Debbi Shapazian (costume design).
'"The Eternity Project' is a big deal for us because it is our first evening-length project and because of the quantity and quality of local artists involved. To me, this project reflects how far we have come as a company in our 2 short years both in the quality of work and training from the dancers, but also in the nature of the way we work as collective. I started thinking about this piece about a year ago and completed the interviews in London this past summer. The whole company has been working with this movement material so deeply for almost a year in order to produce the most thoughtful, saturated and investigated art that they can. We have been really fortunate to have such invested collaborators and it is my hope that we can fund these last legs of production before the premier." - Amy Querin
Supporting this KICKSTARTER will directly support the jobs of over 20 local artist, including the backstage & production crews for our greatly-anticipated show: NOCO ROGUE SHOW 2012. SUPPORT LOCAL GROWERS (of art) & Join NOCO in producing professional-level modern dance in Fresno.
more about NOCO: We premiered as a company at our local ROGUE festival 2 years ago. NOCO's second ROGUE show was recently listed as one of the TOP 20 Cultural Events of Fresno in 2011, and we are thrilled to premier our first evening-length project this year @ the greatly anticipated: NOCO ROGUE SHOW 2012 @ Tower Theatre.
