Update #11: In it to win it!
Update #10: On the one side, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse...
Update #9: So many phrases come to mind.
"Like a dog returning to its vomit" is the first to come to mind.
Trying it one more time. I've cut down the goal a bit and added a bit of meat to the pledges. Primarily, I'm looking at the opportunity to build a fandom using this system.
Update #8: Die? Cast.
Hello, Internet.
As a wise man once said, “Alea jacta est.” The die is cast. After attempting an extensive Kickstarter campaign, I came tantalizingly close to… well, half. Thirty-eight percent.
Thirty-eight percent.
Thirty. Eight. Percent.
Which, if you will excuse some exuberance, rocks like a hurricane in a foundry atop a mountain during a lightning storm on Mars. I’m not sure what the Mohs factor would be for that level of rock, but I expect it’s rather hard.
A fifth of my contributors were absolute strangers who saw the project, declared it worth an initial investment and dove in. The rest pledged extravagantly, which either speaks to the quality of my work or my culinary know-how. Either way, I feel as lucky as a man who’s been given a number of medals and a middling-sized stuffed fish.
I thank you for your support and anticipate news in the near future, as I rise from the ashes like a phoenix.
Because, as another wise man once said, "No die roll is worth a damn without extensive modifiers. Unless rolled with a d12." That wise man was Sean Demory.

Pledge $20 or more Pledge $20 or more
An autographed copy of "Zobop Bebop" with as personal a message as I can muster. If you're a friendly stranger, it'll be pretty basic. If I've known you for years, it could very well be "Dennis, 43-87-27! Sean" or something equally obscure
Pledge $100 or more Pledge $100 or more
A personally autographed copy of "Zobop Bebop" and dinner with Demory for you and up to five friends if you're in the Kansas City area. Either dinner out (most likely at some dive-y burger joint or sketchy Mexican restaurant) or dinner in (in which case you'll be part of my ongoing experiment.) It'll be on a Saturday, either way. I'm a fun if strange dinner companion and I can spot/cook a hell of a meal.

Sean-Con 2011 and you're the guest of honor. I will come to you, wherever you are, with a copy of "Zobop Bebop." I will sign it, then and there. I will take you to the dinner of your choice in your town, or I will go to the grocery store, come back and cook a five-course meal for/with you and up to five of your friends. I will be as charming a dinner companion as possible, I'll clean up after myself and disappear without wearing out my welcome and leaving nothing but a signed book, the slow burn of a Demory dinner and general bonhomie. (Domestic travel only)

ROAD TRIP. Sean-Con 2011 and you're the guest of honor. I will come to you, wherever you are, with a copy of "Zobop Bebop." I will sign it, then and there. I will take you to the dinner of your choice in your town, or I will go to the grocery store, come back and cook a five-course meal for/with you. I will be as charming a dinner companion as possible, I'll clean up after myself. We will then go to the airport, fly to wherever the hell Forest Whitaker lives and give him a copy of the book, saying "Make this into a movie. You'll be glad you did." Please note, this does not include additional people. We do this, we do this together. Compañeros!
