31 Days of everyone's favorite bounty hunter - collected in one volume! Will feature never before seen art, sketches and commentary.
Zero Suit Samus Flies A Kite
31 Days, 31 Adventures
What do intergalactic bounty hunters do when they're not chasing space pirates all over the galaxy? The 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus is a fan-made collection of cartoons and comics which explore the everyday life of everyone's favorite hunter, Samus Aran. A tribute which not only features the original 31 pieces by artist Chris Furniss (created and posted to WasabiSunshine.com daily during the Summer of 2011 and as seen on Kotaku.com and in the March 2012 issue of Nintendo Power) but sketches, commentary from Chris and writer Ross Rosenberg, bonus illustrations and a section of tributes from some of the raddest artists known to video game fandom.

Hardcover Edition with Dust Jacket - Exclusive to Kickstarter Backers
The book itself will be a 8"x8" hardcover collection, with 58(ish) gorgeously full-color pages. It may even feature all of the colors in existence, it is that full-color. This particular hardcover collection will be exclusive to this Kickstarter campaign in that it will have a special dust jacket which folds out into a poster. Any future printings will be either hardcover or paperback but will not feature this dust jacket! Funds from this project will primarily go to the printing of this book and of the various backer rewards (shipping costs, too). The intent is to be able to print a large run, which will then supply stock for an eventual shop at Fangamer.net, as well as inventory for sale at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle in September.
Here's an artist proof of the hardcover edition (exclusive dust jacket design coming soon in a later update):

Zero Suit Samus Gives A TED Presentation
In addition to the already very awesome hardcover edition of the book (including signed editions) I'm working with the fine folks at Fangamer.net to whip up some neat extras, some of which are exclusive to Kickstarter backers. Fangamer are the rad dudes behind a bunch of the extras from the Minecraft Documentary Kickstarter and the Double FIne Adventure Kickstarter, so you know they're certified RAD. Anyway, these extras include...
4 different t-shirt color options to choose from

Stickers and a button set
A 6"x18" Giclee Print
"The Party" - 6"x18" giclee prints, (photo is of the original, the print would be without the perforated edge, naturally)
A collection of 5"x7" prints from a curated set of the most popular days
A one-of-a-kind, hand-painted NES cart of the original Metroid
Some sketches for the custom NES cart - this will be completely rad.
A one-of-a-kind, hand-painted classic Gameboy
A one-of-a-kind, hand-painted classic NES console
Project History and Intent
Zero Suit Samus Has A Movie Night On The Second Wednesday Of Every Month
In the summer of 2011, I was lamenting to my podcast cohorts about how I hadn't been drawing as much as I'd have liked, and Ross Rosenberg (one of aforementioned cohorts) suggested The 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus. I have a history of drawing from video game themes, so it actually sounded like a pretty cool undertaking. The next day, he tweeted to me: "Zero Suit Samus Flies A Kite" and I drew it. Then the day after he tweeted another concept: "Zero Suit Samus Loves Dim Sum" and I knew we were on to something. I became an event, and I loved every minute of it. I grew as an artist and managed to delight a lot of people in the process. I'm very happy to be able to finally be able to put this out as a book. I put a lot of love into it, and I hope it puts smiles on many, many faces.
Thanks to all the artists who contributed to the book, as well as my friends at Fangamer.net who are helping this crazy dream come true. But most of all thanks to everyone who retweeted, tumbl'd, shared and otherwise enjoyed the series when it was first run. Your outpouring of enthusiasm and support for the project is what made it worthwhile.
Post-Kickstarter I will be opening a boutique shop at Fangamer.net under the Wasabi Sunshine moniker. I'll sell leftover inventory of this book as well as paperback versions, posters and prints and buttons and t-shirts and a bunch of fun stuff. Inventory has upfront costs, and Kickstarter seemed like a great way to pay for this. The goal is based on estimated costs of a print run of 500, with costs for the buttons, stickers, shirts, prints and shipping all included.
Oops, that's a typo in the reward level there. The Gravity Suit level print will be 6x18 inches and the Morph Ball level print will be 4x6 inches. Sorry for the confusion!
Yes! Just increase your donation level by $30 for every additional book you'd like. I'll take care of the rest.
