Hey everyone! We wanted to share a preview with you of some of the great material we're working on for the film. This is just our first draft, so let us know what you think in the comments section of the Kickstarter page!
We took to the streets to find out how much that average person knows about the Internet. Here's what we found:
We all use the Internet. Clearly, you do…you’re on the Internet now. Us? Well, we pretty much live on the Internet.
But do you know how the Internet works?
War for the Web is a feature documentary film that will explore that very question and explain why it is crucial for you to get involved now.

Our reliance on the Internet in our daily lives grows every day, but few of us have any awareness to just how it works. Ever wonder where your Internet actually comes from? What goes on behind the scenes when you write an email or check your Facebook?
As food for thought, we present to you 10 Questions You Should Be Asking Yourself about the Internet. But the most important one is, “Why should you care?”
The Internet has offered a whole new way of life in business, communication, even friendships. In fact, each one of us consumes approximately 16 hard drives’ worth of digital information a day. As Internet usage grows heavier, the current infrastructure in place just won’t be able to handle the sheer amount of data.
But most people don't realize that in America, the Internet is privately owned and operated by a few large companies. The cost of upgrading this old infrastructure is too expensive and risky for Internet Service Providers. Rather than invest in "the last mile" to meet the demands of the network, Internet Service Providers need to limit our access to movies, or songs, or sites… What's next?
We’re at a crossroads in the history of the Internet. War for the Web explores this digital frontier, seeking answers to the future by delving into its past. We will investigate the beginnings of the Internet, its exponential growth in the past decade, and how this phenomenal culture of innovation—which spawned advances such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon—may be in jeopardy.
Your donations will help us secure interviews with industry executives, scholars, politicians, and all the movers and shakers who are controlling the strings. We will also be able to hire a professional crew and shoot in the highest cinematic quality to give a topic as vast an important as the Internet the movie experience it deserves.
