Update #7: Anime Angels: Archangel posters have arrived
Hello everybody. Supporters of the Anime Angels artbook project who pledged at the Archangel level might recall that one of the bonus items you receive is a set of three 11x17 inch posters featuring art from the book. The posters have now arrived from the printer, and they look great - see the photo below. The top left poster in the photo is of course the cover art, Angel in Green, by Shilin. For the poster we've kept the art uncropped, so that you can see the full artwork with sky, wings, and clouds. At the top right, in full magical girl angel glory, is Star Keeper by Anita Kloss (red-priest-usada) of Poland. At the bottom of the photo is Night by chasikrat. All three of the posters are printed on heavy 100lb gloss paper, and the back side of each poster has text that gives the name of the artwork plus the artist's name, city, and portfolio web site.
All of the posters for Archangel supporters will ship within the next few days, flat, in a hard-sided protective poster mailer.
An Angel in Green poster will also ship to each Angel First Class and Seraphim supporter, folded in half with the books, once the books arrive. (The Star Keeper and Night posters are only for Archangel supporters).
If you're regretting that you didn't order at one of the support levels that provides a poster (or three), we did print a small number of extras, so it's possible to upgrade. Please email me directly at bruce@maronmedia.com, or send a private message using the Kickstarter message system, and we can fairly easily work out a way for you to upgrade to a support level that includes posters.
The books themselves haven't arrived yet, however we're still expecting the softcovers to arrive later this month.
Thanks for your continued support!

Update #6: Anime Angels: PDFs are at the printer!
Hello to all Anime Angels Kickstarter supporters and friends. After a marathon weekend of edits and rendering, the final PDFs for the book were completed late Sunday night April 1 (no fooling), and they were delivered to the printer on Monday April 2. As of today (April 3), the printer has tentatively accepted the PDFs and is express-mailing the special color proofs to California so that we can color-check the pages and confirm that the layout looks good. So we're making good progress. The final book has come in at 104 pages with 68 artists from 22 countries, so it's definitely an international collaboration. The interior layout looks great, and there's a thank-you page where we were able to list the name of everybody who preordered the book on Kickstarter, for people who gave me a name in the followup survey.
I received a few inquiries after the Kickstarter campaign closed about whether it is still possible to preorder the book. The answer for at least the month of April is "yes, though it's now too late to get your name printed in the book". So if you still have friends who want to purchase a book and get the preorder items such as postcards or art prints, we can still accept orders at the Paypal site, and those orders will receive the same set of bonus items: postcards, 8x10 prints, posters, etc. The Paypal preorder site is here: http://animeangelsbook.com/preorder.html There are also a few extra hardcover copies available, though not a lot.
We're presently on track to meet our goal of having the softcover books by late May, the hardcover books in June, and a presence (with books) at Fanimecon San Jose in late May. However as with any project like this, it's never possible to know exactly how the timing will work out until the books actually arrive. If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, do feel free to stop by Fanimecon (see fanime.com, it's May 25-28, 2012), because many of the contributing angel artists will be there and it should be possible to get your book signed by at least a few of them.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me directly.
Thanks for your support!

Update #5: Anime Angels supporters: Please remember to fill out your survey
Update #4: Anime Angels is successfully funded - thank you and next steps
Update #3: Anime Angels: Welcome Megatokyo fans!
We're pleased to announce that Fred Gallagher, author of the well-known webcomic Megatokyo, has agreed to do an original guest artwork to be published in Anime Angels. You can read his note about it at Megatokyo's Facebook page or on Fred's Twitter page. Welcome to the Anime Angels project, Fred!
Project support from the many Megatokyo fans who pledged to Anime Angels when they heard the news has pushed us over our $7000 Kickstarter goal, which is also obviously very good news.
The Anime Angels Kickstarter campaign ends on Sunday night March 18 at 9 PM pacific time (US), so if you have any friends who want to preorder, or if you need to upgrade your order, please be sure to do that before Sunday night.
Thanks for your support!

Just got my posters framed and ready to go up. I honestly would have preferred no text/logo on the cover picture but enjoy them none-the-less. Looking forward to putting my hand in the book!!!
