My Official Recording Debut - A playful collection of mainly Tin Pan Alley era songs that'll have you singing along!
So, Dianna, just what are you doing?
Well, I'm glad you asked! I'm recording my first album - A cheery compilation of some of my favorite songs from the 20s, 30, 40s, and beyond. I'm working with a trio of musicians in the Anchorage area (piano, drums, upright bass) to arrange and record new versions of these timeless songs. With high-quality studio engineering, professional accompaniment, and my own boundless enthusiasm, I am hoping to add my voice to the unofficial 'girl crooner' catalogue.
When is all this supposed to happen?
I'm set to record in February/March, 2013, with an album release to follow as quickly as I can fund it, spiff it up, and send it out.
So, why the Kickstarter? Convince me...
It was my natural inclination to keep this project a secret, with an album magically materializing for sale, but so far as I know, no performer has ever become successful without the help of at least a few others. That's why I'm asking for your support. A girl just can't do it alone!
If you choose to support my project, your funds will go toward: *musician's fees, *studio time, *CD production, *promotion/distribution, *music licensing fees, ETC.
I am trying to raise only a portion of the necessary funds, and every little, itty-bitty bit will help me.

The early rehearsal period is going to be a little strange given that I live 453 miles from my band and that we'll be sending GarageBand tracks back and forth. (This is a true labor of love.) But we've got months to work out the kinks and to arrive at agreeable arrangements prior to my flying in for our first face-to-face rehearsal. Then, I have no doubt that we'll hit the ground running.
